I was talking to a mate the other night and he reckons there would be no point in him having a blog because all he would write is "got up, went to work, came home". I think that is my problem. Right now I am waiting to go home but my wife is coming with me and is taking her sweet time so I figured I might as well write something on this blog, since I know of at least one person who threatened to check it regularly. Always a great event. We had a very good season but were beaten in the final unfortunately. In fact the onslaught by the opposition batsmen against what was the best bowling attack in the competition (in my humble opinion) was so ferocious that, in the words of our match reporter Alastair, if it were deemed acceptable our fielders may have curled into the feotal position, cried for their mummies and demanded "bitty" as solace against the horror.<br /><br />So this weekend is about celebrating a good season and drowning our sorrows about our grand final defeat.<br /><br />I am currently writing a shopping list about what to take to feed the boys. For our first trip three years ago, all I took was meat, bread and sauce. And the complaining I copped at the end of it for not providing anything more healthy was incredible. Fellas, its a cricket trip!!! So the next year we made sure there was a supply of lettuce and tomato and tofu in addition to the meat, bread and sauce. And guess what we chucked away at the end? This year its back to the tried and true staples of meat, bread and sauce.
